Rehearsal of “In Süße berstend - Teil II” at the Malakoff-Turm
Glimpses of the soul into inner worlds ...
... between longing and devotion, arousal, bliss, dissolution of boundaries and union. Alongside a joyful becoming-whole, painful shadows also appear in a loving encounter, and with them the chance of healing.
Poem "unserer Laute verschmelzendes Schmiegen"
© Klaus Damm 2018
Klaus Damm’s cross-media composition illuminates these facets of his poem. In a lyrical, pictorial and sonic language of the soul, orbiting universes beyond time arise and pass away, impulses into worlds of association of their own.
While the music of the first two parts was composed with possible later instrumental versions in mind, the third part is conceived as an electronic sound fabric.
The through-composed sound and image composition (Video Visiography) of the first part interprets the inner worlds of the poem in the sound and image dimension, without paraphrasing the text.
In the second part, by contrast, the lyrical core is at the center. The poem glides as interwoven text over a few static image stations, carried by the intimately condensed, expansively moving sound space.
In the third part, finally, a selection from the Visiography series “circle” invites you to pause over the filigree sound fabric: suggested photographs combine with expressive fractal arcs. From such panel pictures grow the video streams of the large-scale form.
